Gold Coast Kokoda Challenge 2026
Carrick Aland was proud to sponsor Our Lady of the Southern Cross College (OLSCC) Kokoda Team 1 as its members took on the gruelling 96km Kokoda Challenge.
After approximately 28 hours of walking through pouring rain and into the early hours of the morning, the entire team crossed the finish line together.
The challenge tested the team physically and mentally, with blisters, slippery conditions and the struggle to stay awake at 3.00 am among the many obstacles encountered along the way.
“Despite these challenges, we pushed through together, and all five team members crossed the finish line after approximately 28 hours,” the team said.
“The Kokoda Challenge tested our resilience, teamwork, determination and mental strength in ways we could never have imagined. It is an experience we will remember for the rest of our lives.”
Community support also helped the team reach its fundraising goals and provided welcome motivation during the toughest stages of the event.
“Knowing our community was behind us provided extra motivation during the toughest sections of the challenge. We genuinely could not have achieved this without you.”
