Lachlan Monaghan
Trainee Accountant Lachlan ‘Lochie’ Monaghan knew that, after doing a work experience stint with us when he was still at school, Carrick Aland was the place he wanted to be.
From a very early age Lochie knew he would have a career in numbers. He then went on to be named 2016 Dux of Accounting by Dalby’s Our Lady of the Southern Cross College.
The following year, he was snapped up by Carrick Aland.
As a Trainee, Lochie is immersed in learning his profession from the ground up, but is already streamlining the vast quantities of numerical data he has to handle. He is also becoming proficient in processing tax returns under the guidance of Client Manager Gabrielle Doyle.
“During work experience I got an early insight into how welcoming the Carrick Aland team is, when I was taken under Jenny Lambley’s wing,” says Lochie. “Now being part of Gabrielle’s team means I’ve wasted no time in getting my skills up on using Xero and applying those to the grassroots accounting work I’m doing.”
Whilst work and study consume all of Lochie’s time at present, he is well on his way to getting his degree in Business and Commerce from the University of Southern Queensland.
As part of Gabrielle’s team based in Dalby, Lochie is learning the ropes by also working closely with Dan Bartkowski and his team as a specialist primary production unit supporting farming and local businesses.
