Dyahn Werth – Carrick Aland Accountant
As a Chartered Accountant, Dyahn Werth supports Carrick Aland’s clients by preparing Business Activity Statements, Individual Activity Statements, financial accounts and income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, trusts and companies.
She has a leaning towards clients who operate in the agricultural sector, possibly because she herself hails from a family of farmers, smithies and mechanics.
An experienced regional accountant, Dyahn has seen a lot of change with the upgrade of Carrick Aland’s accounting systems, which has had knock-on effects for how she works with her clients. Since joining Carrick Aland in 2007, she recently added ‘Xero Certified Consultant’ to her list of specialties.
Farmers have a history of ingenuity and Dyahn is no exception.
“We’re working on switching all our clients on to better accounting systems,” says Dyahn. “It can be challenging trying to integrate systems in some rural areas, especially those that are web-based or in the cloud, but we can usually find a workaround to get everything connected.”
“It’s worth doing knowing our clients will benefit in the long run.”
With Dyahn knowing ag businesses inside and out, she is a safe pair of hands preparing for the rigours of another financial year end.
“We’re heading into tax planning time so it’s time to think about getting your year-end information organised especially with the 15 May deadline,” Dyahn says. “The ATO is less sympathetic so getting cash flow in order is a great way to know if you can meet any tax liabilities well before 30 June.”
Outside of work Dyahn is devoted to her young daughter and even gets to dabble in a bit of craft.
