Extra Scooters and balls for drought families this Christmas

Dalby’s Salvation Army will be able to make Christmas a little easier for families doing it tough during the drought.

Last week, the teams at Carrick Aland Accountants and Carrick Aland Wealth Planning donated new scooters and balls in time for school holidays and Christmas.

“In past years we would do a staff Secret Santa,” said Jenny Lambley. “This year our staff donated their Secret Santa funds and Carrick Aland matched the amount and then we went shopping.”

“Thanks to Brian Hedge and Hedge’s Sports Store we were able to make our money go further. Brian and his team also assembled the scooters so they’d be ready to go before we handed them over to the Salvos!”

Carrick Aland Associate, Daniel Bartkowski, said it’s vital to continue supporting efforts to provide much-needed assistance to rural communities and farmers currently impacted by drought.

“Being a regional business the Carrick Aland team, many of us farmers ourselves, know firsthand the crippling effect of drought on rural communities, not just the primary producers,” said Daniel.

“With so many of our own staff, friends, families and clients affected by severe drought across the region we are passionate about supporting families and business as much as we can,” Daniel said.

Carrick Aland has been raising funds for Rural Aid’s Buy-A-Bale. Last year they raised over $2,000 helped enormously by a barbecue in Dalby coordinated with Rabobank, Chesterfield Australia and Dalby Donut Man Col Watters.

Community is at the heart of everything Carrick Aland does.
