This time of year invites annual reflection
This allows us to appreciate the year’s successes, to review and recalibrate those things that did not go as well as hoped and approach the New Year with inspiration to achieve your goals.
We wish to thank our clients for your continued support, including welcoming all our new clients who entrusted their affairs to Carrick Aland in 2021
Despite a number of ongoing challenges with the pandemic, this year has been on the whole a welcome return to some sort of normality. We trust that the end of another year brings with it some time to spend with family and to enjoy a peaceful and fortunate Christmas. We thank each and every member of our community — our staff, peers, friends and those in community positions — who continually strive for excellence to make our region a better one.
Above all, we look forward to a new year in 2022 full of energy, opportunity and achievement for our business and yours and our respective families.
Please note that our offices will be closed from 23 December 2021 and will reopen on 4 January 2022.
Good news and milestones
Carrick Aland Group was named Boutique Firm of the Year at the Australian Accounting Awards, highlighting how boutique firms play an integral role in serving our local communities.
Whilst COVID-19 restrictions imposed the day before prevented us from attending, Daniel Bartkowski accepted the award via live stream.
To record a third straight win was fantastic recognition of our client-focused approach and one very few other accounting and financial services firms have been able to achieve. Carrick Aland was also nominated as finalists in four other categories.
Base Services Christmas Hamper Appeal
We know Christmas is getting close when it’s time to take our annual jaunt to BASE Services to drop off donations for their Christmas Hamper Appeal.

Noel’s retirement send-off
Noel Brownsey originally joined Aland & Co in 2008 as Business Manager to oversee our operational functions, administration, Human Resources, Work Health and Safety and staff training, so it’s an understatement to say he will be missed.
Noel takes pride in being an active community member and, with retirement, we’re sure his local Lions Club will be much better off.
We wish Noel the fondest farewell and very best wishes in retirement. Thank you, Noel, for your many years of dedicated service, insight and experience!
We hope the travel vouchers see you covering many, many miles.
Successful succession
With succession planning being such an important topic for so many of our farming families, we loved working again with Susan Jacobs at Susan Jacobs Photography to put the ‘success’ in succession.
You can watch the succession video we produced with Susan here »
We also loved featuring more of the beautiful imagery captured on our website and digital communications by the very talented Brooke Bartkowski. Brooke’s vivid photos of the Western Downs have allowed us to portray a very local flavour in all our messaging.
