2023 Dalby Chamber Business Excellence Awards
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
In a stellar encore to an already remarkable year, Rural and Financial Business Specialists Carrick Aland secured dual honours at the Dalby Chamber Business Excellence Awards by winning the Professional & Business Services award, coupled with the prestigious title of 2023 Business of the Year.
The gala event, held at the Dalby Events Centre over the weekend, marked the second time this year that Carrick Aland’s exceptional contributions were recognised on the awards stage.
Director Greg Burton expressed the team’s dedication to delivering comprehensive accounting services and financial advice to individuals, farming families and business owners in the region. Emphasising deep community connections, Greg highlighted the team’s profound understanding of the financial needs of local business and farm owners. This insight allows Carrick Aland to offer optimal solutions, whether in tax strategies, SMSF administration, financial audits, succession planning or setting personal wealth goals.
Hailing from the Western Downs himself, Greg noted that many team members share local origins, reinforcing Carrick Aland’s commitment to the region.
“Winning two Business Excellence Awards not only showcases our accomplishments but also helps us build a team comprised of the best regional talent.”
Reflecting on the award application process, he underscored the importance of self-reflection in guiding the firm’s future endeavours. In addition to two award wins, Carrick Aland was also shortlisted as a finalist for Excellence in Innovation, in recognition of a groundbreaking succession planning model. This underscores the firm’s commitment to pioneering solutions that redefine industry standards and contribute to the long-term success of clients.
“Our consistent commitment to skill-building and excellence has allowed us to innovate and elevate our profile across various services. Notably, having a succession specialism in our service line-up, we are able to support local families in ensuring the continuity of their farming legacies for generations.”
Greg emphasised the team’s dedication, going beyond client expectations with a genuine care factor that extends “the extra mile”.
This approach has contributed to Carrick Aland serving its third generation of clients, with some relationships dating back to the business’ establishment in 1953.
Highlighting the regional focus that sets Carrick Aland apart, Greg said, “We take great pride in being across what’s happening in our clients’ businesses. This intimate knowledge, through both prosperous and challenging times, positions us as a resilient partner offering high-level financial advice beyond just the tax considerations.”
“We are utterly thrilled and grateful to be named Business of the Year and Professional & Business Services winners 2023. Congratulations to our dedicated team who thoroughly deserve to celebrate this accolade,” Greg added.
“Thanks to organisers Dalby Chamber of Commerce and Trice Consulting, sponsors, judges and especially to all the wonderful businesses and individuals who came together to create such a special night. We are so lucky to live and work in such a dynamic and thriving region!”
In addition to the dual award wins, Associate Director Daniel Ellis also received recognition as a Young Business Owner Finalist, as was Carrick Aland as an Excellence in Innovation Finalist.
